More Details

Charlotte Kottusch has been involved with the Vienna Food Policy (VFPC - Ernährungsrat Wien) since 2016 and is a member of the Coordination Circle and coordinator of the Food Literacy, Awareness and Education Working Group. She is a social ecologist by background and works at the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK) dealing with sustainable food systems and civil society participation.

She has scientific expertise in the field of food system, land use and climate change and is currently lead author for the chapter "Mitigation of Climate Change" of the Austrian Special Report Land Use, Land Management and Climate Change, [SR21] as well as lead author for the subchapter "Mitigation through Dietary Change and Reduction of Food Waste and Losses".

Her main focus areas are: Food sovereignty, bottom-up food movements, democratic food systems, nutrition and climate change. She has been part of the VFPC and WeltTellerFeld team since the founding ideas and is currently mainly responsible for project coordination, bringing together the areas of education and agriculture, and project communication.
